Jerry Pinkney's Illustrator Awards

Jerry Pinkney has proven to be a very accomplished illustrator of children's books. According to his website, His work was first recognized with an award in 1964, a gold medal by the Art Director's Club of Boston. His awards and achievements span the last four decades, with his most recent accomplishment being the 2010 Randolph Caldecott Medal awarded by the American Library Association for his Book The Lion & The Mouse. = Other awards received by Jerry Pinkney include: the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Celebration of Black Writing Festival (Philadelphia, PA), the 2004 University of Southern Mississippi Medallion, the 2003 Outstanding Learning Disabled Achievers Award, the 1995 Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, Gold and Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators, the 1996 Golden Kite Honor Award, and alumni awards from the M.
